Privacy notice
How Johns & Mathews Legal handles information you give us through this website and the client portal.
Last updated November 4, 2026. Demonstration text: the firm's counsel replaces it before launch.
What we collect
On this website: what you type into the consultation request form (your name, phone or email, the kind of matter and an optional note). We don't use advertising cookies or trackers.
In the client portal: your email address, the answers you give in the workbook and My info, records of the documents prepared from them, your signing and review status, the people you invite to see your plan, and the devices you're signed in on (so you can sign them out).
Why we use it
To respond to your request, check for conflicts of interest, prepare and review your estate plan, keep your documents up to date, and keep your account secure. We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.
Who can see it
Your answers and documents are seen by you, by the Johns & Mathews attorneys and staff working on your plan, and by the people you choose to share your plan with. Our service providers (website and database hosting, and email delivery for sign-in codes) process it on our behalf under confidentiality terms.
Information in the portal is protected by the attorney-client privilege and our duty of confidentiality once you are a client.
Cookies
The portal uses one cookie to keep you signed in. Your reading preferences (text size and contrast) are kept on your own device.
How long we keep it
We keep client files, including portal records, for as long as our file-retention policy and the Rules of Professional Conduct require. Consultation requests from people who don't become clients are deleted after a short period. You can download your portal data at any time from Account, and ask us to delete it.
