Terms of use
The terms for using the Johns & Mathews Legal website and client portal.

No legal advice from the website
Articles and pages on this website are general information. They are not legal advice and may not reflect the most recent law. Don't act on them without talking to a lawyer about your circumstances.
When we represent you
Using the portal before you've signed an engagement letter does not make you a client of the firm. Your attorney-client relationship begins when we confirm it in writing. Your engagement letter sets out the scope of our work and our fee.
Your portal account
Keep access to your email account secure: sign-in codes are sent there. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has signed in to your portal. You can see and sign out your devices under Account.
Draft documents in the portal are for your attorney's review. They are not valid until your attorney has reviewed them with you and you have signed them as Connecticut law requires.
Acceptable use
Use the portal only for your own planning, or for a plan someone has shared with you. Don't try to reach another person's information or interfere with the service.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut.
